Done that on a few occasions. You will find not a lot of Greenbacks at the locks, but there will be a few. You need a good strong north wind to drive the Shiners up closer to the locks. It will take some paitent fishing but it can be done. Don't discount the Sauger as the pigs will be in also. (19-22 inches)

Thanks stu.
Was thinking I might head further north than the locks... not too sure what I will run into as far as wade-able water. Figure I'll do a bit of scouting and hope I don't end up swimming.... gonna bring the staff for sure.

have to agree with Stu. two weeks ago I was playing with the goldeye a ways north of the concrete and a fellow at the rock with hard tackle pulled in a good size greenback.........and there was a strong north wind and the water was within 1/2 foot of the top of the concrete

Went out yesterday morning and only had one hit. What a BUMMER. A few bucket brigaders were down at the locks as well and caught nothing while I was there. Me thinks I may have to take another trip down there.
