Hey,
New to the forum here. I've been fishing since I was a little crap and still can't get enough of it. Have been thinking of getting into fly fishing for a different challenge. I researched for a while and finally bought the Martin Rolling Fork 9' 6wt rod and the Moutain Brook reel with 6wf floating line. Went out a few times. Casting is easy enough but haven't had any luck yet. Lots to learn!

Sounds like you're good to go! Glad you stopped in... I'm sure you'll get one (or a bunch) sooner or later.

Thanks Dale,
Can't wait to start tying flys and actually catching fish with them.

There were so many different line manufacturers to choose from, I ended up going with Scientific Anglers. Is this a good brand?

Scientific Anglers, Cortland, and Rio are probably the 3 biggest names in fly lines. Even their most inexpensive lines are decent.

Starting off, I don't think it will matter a great deal what brand of fly line you choose. Your choice of 6 wt floating sounds good. Is the line a weight-forward line? (makes casting a little easier).
Of note, you may want to use weighted flies eg bead/cone heads or with dumbell eyes or something like that to allow your wet flies to get down to where the beasties are. Unless of course you're starting off trying dry flies, in which case you're a better man than I.
Cheers
Ken
