Took another flyfisher out to intro him to Manitoba fly fishing. The Red is still discolored and flowing quite fast. No luck on the main river. Went down to the floodway and instantly saw some fish rising. Took a while to figure out what they were doing. Most fish were feeding on really small minnows approx 3/8 of an inch long. Finally put on a size 12 all purpose nymph (Rebecca's Damsel) And caught a couple. Myfirst Cat of the year. Not to be outdone Shane caught his first Carp on the same fly. Also managed one Drum. It was a good night.

Beautiful work, Stu!
I have yet to get out there to test drive my new homemade 10 wt rod - I hope I have the same fortune!

great start guys looks like that cat had a battle scar or 3 around the adipose ...... and that carp must have put a bend in the rod.
