Hope to get out to Lockport on Sat. am for my first session since opening day. My preference is cats. Is the water level now too low for the floodway? Any suggestions?....TIM

Tim was out last night and messed around by the dam and didn't do to well. Then I went over to the floodway and there is water coming over the spillway. Will and I were there on this Sunday past and since that time it's come up but it is wadable. Last night around sunset i got 4 juvenile cats the biggest was around 18 inches. Had one big cat on and it busted me off on the rocks, sure felt good and it was a good test for my new 10 weight. Your best bet is at the floodway either early am or later in the night. hope this helps , catch a big one .......Kim

Thanks, Kim!
We're you on the north or south side?
Any hints on flies?

I was on the south shore and waded out to below the island where the 2nd one was just beginning to show. I would of gone to the north shore but it was already pretty full by the time I got there. Was using a sink tip line #6 sink tip with any where from 2 feet to 5 feet for a leader. After I lost the big one I was using 17 lb test , for flies I was uing booby flies in black /yellow , hence the shorter leader. Quater casting up stream ,flipping the line down and stripping in . Seemed to work the best that night.

Floodway report: Fished Saturday am from 7:00 to 9:30. Began on the north side of the floodway. Only one island is visible but I was able to wade across and out to the mouth.
One soft hit only, nothing landed. The b**t crowd wasn't doing much better. One guy took a boat to the pool below the outlet and caught a couple of cats. He said goldeye were had to come by.
Other than a couple of goldey in the first pool, I did not see one rise or splash the whole morning...TIM

Hello, I'm the new lass on the lake without a boat, but, I have a brand spanking new fly rod and reel! I'm hoping for some ideas as to places I could fish that are somewhat off the beaten track but can be accessed by car and foot. Wanda
