Got there about 5PM , Stephen shortly after me , Will around 5:45, Darrell and Fred as the Rain started in. Sir Carp put on a great fishing show tonight 4 Cats in the biggest 35 1/2 inches but he had a bunch on , I just lost count after a while . Myself 30 inch Cat , a fair sized one on , some nice size Goldeye , also some Sauger . Stephen had a nice one on but it gave him the Slip and I believe he had some Goldeye . I know Darrell had some on but I'm not sure what he caught. When it started to rain and the Sir Carp show began it reminded me of the time I was out with Stu and it poured but the Cats were just whamming flys. It was a great night even though the board meeting was small..........KIM

Oh we had fun - landed a few goldeye - which is what Fred was looking for. And you know - Fred just HAD TO net the goldeye so they didn't get away .... Aw - he's a big Goldeyes fan - fish and ball club. Still looking for my kittie on the fly. I don't think my fly was getting deep enough in the current. It is weighted - but only with 7 wraps of lead. Think next time I'll take the fly of choice along as well. Flies - sooooo many to use - sooo many to try ..... But - the esCarpgot worked again last night on the goldeyes. As did a white crystal chenille / purple back / streamer. Gotta go look after wee guy - sick Maybe tie some more...... enjoy,

I opted to bank last nights fishing for next week. I am no fair weather fisher but with the luck i had on Monday and the flows I figured next week would be better
Glad I was a little wrong and rain can really turn on the fishing.

hey - their 'signature look' also comes along with that same phrase ... And if you take too long - Will's moustache turns fu-manchu - REALLY ... ;D But.....ok - you landed the minnows .... what happened to the ..... you know - - - the ones for which we left fearing the sight a grown man cry .... honestly - I thought Will was about to loose his fly line. Way too guys. Next week might have 2 netters (sis is a bit .... jealous of bro) fish on,

Hit the Red about 8:30 pm and packed it in about 10:00. Crowded. I fished just in front of the big boulder on shore just at the end of the cement retaining wall. (there is a hole of a foot or two down there somewhere ). saw lots of carp the odd cat within casting range, but aside from one sauger and one missed hit, nothing. The lads in the 2 boats straight out from me got some cats, but I cannot say too many others drew my attention. The mosquitoes were not so bad.

went to the locks first and caught only a spinning rod and reel in about 2 feet of water. used the right foot, so does that count as flyfishing? The unit was quite clean and i had waded the exact same spot a couple of days ago, so i think the rod wasn't there more than a day or so.
Proceeded to the floodway exit where i waded out from the north side. only 2 others there who were just hammering kitties with shrimp 1 foot below enormous bobbers.
i tangled with a sizeable carp that i watched inhale my fly. it speed out for about 40 feet then back at me and shook the fly. caught 2 drum about 20" abd one 12" white bass. There were a lot of carp around the pelican island.
