Fished the St. Norbert floodgate from 8 pm till 9:30 pm today and managed 2 goldeye and 1 small walleye.
All 3 were on a homemade caddis immitation using orange deer hair.
Sorry I did not get out earlier.
Fellow next to me (hardware guy) dragged out numerous cats in the 10lb-15lb range.
Nice to see fish out at this end of the city....only a 10 minute drive for me to get there ;D

Fishin Musician - I believe we have met before...I'm the one who just started fly fishing and met you at the North side of the floodway exit when you were fishing for carp/goldeye....you borrowed my net to land some carp. When you start reading this "bulletin" board enough, you start to figure who everyone is despite everyone using a pen name. Anyways this was only my second trip, but seeing the action is so close to home I hope to get out a lot more!
Entertaining was the fellows who stopped by to ask "have you ever caught anything with one of those things?" (ie. referring to a fly rod). Boy were they impressed when on the second cast I brought in a walleye and then shortly after two goldeye. They never caught one on their conventional gear.
