I fished from the area that was exposed upstream from the big tree toward the locks. As Rob mentioned earlier the east side started out well. There were a number of healthy sauger that were about 8 - 14". Also tied into a big cat that I fought for a few minutes before it wrapped my line around something and escaped. It was in very shallow water only a few feet out from the shoreline. A later cat, 24" , I caught was only a few feet upcurrent from the first, almost directly upstream but right in front of some rocks. I did not catch any goldeye. They continue to elude me.
Most of the sauger and both cats were caught on a white zonker.The fishing was best in the am, and slowed down in the pm.
