I thought it might be them (they have a string section with a 'lead violin' playing a 6 string fretted 'violin' tune higher but to the same specs as a guitar). Can't remember the guys name but all of them had brief fame as 80's euro metal stars.
Stephen you don't happen to know the name of the other '80's Metal orchestra that plays around this time of year?

The only other name I can come up with is Mike Olfield, but I doubt that is it...
