Hehehe... I had to take a second look at the photo of the "a-hole" as she describes him, the dude has the same tube as me. I was thinking "now where was I this weekend?"... sorry to disappoint but I never managed to get out at all this past weekend.
On Saturday, my wifie and me found out we are expecting a little one just in time for summer. Exciting!!! Only 8 more months of freedom, then many sleepless nights await.
James.

Jamesrog - congratulations to you and your wife!! Hope all goes well for you.
Re: dog abuser - I felt it necessary to post (handle there is "pike specialist") to the other board mentioned. It seemed like people were jumping to conclusions pretty quickly. Stories on internet forums can become pretty one-sided in a hurry. There are usually 2 sides to every story.

As an owner of two very friendly dogs, those owners were way out of line. Every owner has a duty to control their dogs - end of story. One of my kids was traumatized for years by a "friendly" German shepard that knocked her down and stood over her, being friendly.
BTW, I find that growling is a great form of non-physical discipline when I train my hunting dogs...TIM

it has been my experience that no ones dogs are as well trained or well behaved as the owners think they are.
Congrats James on the new bundle of joy ;D

tr*lling me naw
there is a nice drop off about 50 yards long the technique i use is to cast at a right angle to the drop and then paddle parallel to the drop whilst twitching the fly. Funny how things change from week to week 2 weeks ago I had to strip sooooo fast to get hits last Sunday I just had to nudge them a long.
BTW I ended up at Lyon's 2 times in a row as Hunt had turned over and I got nadda

Actually it was a blip on my screen once the dogs had been shouted off I went back a fourth to my van for my tube flippers net and rod (so there was plenty of time for one or both of the owners to come over and have their say) and hit the water. I never gave it a second thought until my good buddy Mr. Potstirrer posted this here. I basically do not read or post on any of the (what is there now 8 of them??) b**t and gear boards any more so there was no way I would have even known about this silliness without it being brought to my attention this way. The dog 'incident' was not even on my radar screen. I have no experience with virtual dogs/barking rats so I can't offer a suggestion except to wear work boots in the house ;D

Ha! a barking rat says it to a "T" right on ;D i betcha a quick flick of flipper instead of a steel toed boot i would get you the desired lift and air time projection needed to calm the storm of the rabid barking Rat attack nicely very interesting thanks again Mr Burton

Just read your reply Robert and I think you handled that perfectly. Its funny how the story changes once you hear the other side... and here I was worried that people might mistake the angler for me!! (sorry Robert)
Anyways, thanks for all the kind words... my son is looking forward to finally having someone to play with. Do they make toddler fly rods? ;D
