Not into using strike indicators (yet?) but, Q here - how does this compare with attachment of other indicators (ie/ are lines kinked as shown in the video, or ... )
I'm not sure of putting any additional kinks in my lines - I do enough of that already. Granted, indicators allow some relaxation from keeping immediately on top of, and in touch with the fly .... dunno, not sure. I learn more about the fish / stream / water when going 'by-feel'. More ... in tune one could say.
After doing a fair bit of Chrionomid fishing under indicator I think I would find this system to be rather cumbersome. If you went through a normal afternoon of fishing you would be going through more leader because of all the depth changes. It would be nothing but kinks. I'll stick to my corkie.

Indicators which attach by twisting a rubber band around the line are easily adjustable and have pretty much no impact on the line. I have to admit that I've had a couple of these things let go. Angler error in attaching them?
I think indicators are great 'cause lots of times, especially when drifting nymphs, you don't feel the hit at all and the indicator allows you to see it. It also allows you to follow the progress of your fly easily and allows to control its depth to some extent.

highlander: Bissett? Had a summer job there 40 years ago. At that time all the "strange" people in the Province seem to end up living there. Perhaps it's changed.

bctroutteaser: Looks like we will be making a trip out in the middle of March to look at a few homes. Swan River is number one on the list but also have a place in Inglis to check out and another we like in Bissett. So we shall see how it goes.

lockport1850: I agree, a dropper fly can work wonders. Also, consider putting a stinger hook just behind your main fly. You will be surprised how may trout will bite "short", and you get them on the stinger rather than the main hook.
