Hello My name is Jeff, I like to fish but have never fly fished before and was always intimididated that it would be too hard to learn, but I saw a couple of articles in Wpg Free Press recently with some associated websites which have peaked my interest. From this website and the MFFA site, it appears that there is fraternal , welcoming attitude among fly fishers in the province which was encouraged me to decide to try it. I am going to William and Bower Lakes next week to try it with a friend from BC who can fly fish but hasn't done it in Manitoba before so any basic tips I can pass on to my friend that you can offer here (or seperate post in SPecific Questions section above) would be welcome. l 'm sure I'll have more questions to post after this trip.

Hey Jeff. Welcome aboard. William and bower are my favorites to fish, although they can be very tough. But if you are casting at William, the left side before the far bay seems to be where we hit the most browns. You may pick up some smallies her with some poppers, but we nailed some nice browns with some white zonkers, or white marabou. If you want to troll a few flies, they also were hitting anything red. Red also seemed to produce on Bower, especially with some gold flash. Hope this helps, and good luck.
