Anyone try the Assiniboine River around Carberry ? Just on my William L post - the thought crossed my grey-cell - 'Hey - you're hiking to a river - why not FF it'. besides it falls into general season closure datesSo .... I'm guessing usual Assin. R. prey of cats, carp, drum, pike. But with the fresh spring feed from Devils Punch Bowl, I wonder what else there might be. anyone . . .

ah yes - but that's only 3 weeks away.
Still need to tie pike, cat and carp flies (ok - so need #10 rod too)
gotta find something to do with the deer, squirrel hair/tail, and pheasant I was supplied today ;D
